South America Cruise Ships
Most cruises in South America are all about wildlife. So instead of shuffle board and onboard casinos, we're about to take you to some of the most remote and exotic regions of the planet. From pristine sandy beaches and animal-filled islands of the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador, to a far-flung Amazon River cruise, to meandering fjords and glaciers around Patagonia, and to jumping off the continent and cruising to Antarctica, this massive continent offers a wide range of world-class small ship cruises and yacht trips. Below are sample cruise vessels we often recommend. Choose your preference for the style and type of experience that fits you best.
The Alya Catamaran
Overview
The Alya's catamaran design provides smooth sailing in the seas surrounding the Galapagos Islands. This new Catamaran has 9 comfortable cabins, 8 of them with private balcony. 4 cabins in upper deck and 5 in main deck, all the beds can be double or twin. Private facilities in each cabin: private bathrooms, cold/hot water; air conditioned, hair dryer, telephone for internal communication on board, safe box, and high speaker. Social areas such as library, DVD service, dining room, bar with a variety of drinks and sundeck with bar. Our complete itineraries are developed for the benefit of our passengers, who will have the opportunity to combine hiking, snorkeling, beach and kayaking; our professional guides will introduce you to the most relevant sites on each island.
When to go
The Galapagos is a year 'round destination with two distinctly different seasons regulated by the Humboldt and Panama ocean currents. Dry season (June-November) brings cooler water and air temperatures, trade winds, and some moisture to higher elevations. Wet season (December-May) is warmer, with blue skies, and occasional showers
Itineraries:
This luxury-class, 16-passenger boat offers the travelers a choice of eight-, five-and four-day cruises through the archipelago, include snorkeling, kayaking and hiking.
