Argentina is a country with a rich culture and assorted landscapes. On this program you’ll experience the famed Argentine Patagonia regions while sampling excellent gourmet and wine. We begin at the elegant capital city of Buenos Aires with a European-flavored sophistication and continue to the Peninsula Valdes home to some of the most exotic marine creatures with penguins, sea lions, seals, and whales. We visit Calafate, gateway to the majestic world of glaciers and home to the famed Perito Moreno Glacier and end up in Bariloche, a year-round resort region boasting an Alpine setting of extreme beauty punctuated by snow-capped mountains, millenary forests, and azure and emerald-water lakes.

Day 1 Miami / Buenos Aires

Depart Miami for your overnight flight to Buenos Aires. Dinner and breakfast served aloft.

Day 2 Arrive Buenos Aires

Meeting services upon your arrival to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. Built in the 19th Century, an era of plenty for the wealthy Gaucho land barons of Argentina, this city of 10 million rivals the architecture and sophistication of Paris. This afternoon city tour takes us along the 9th of July Avenue, the widest in the world, with stops at the Plaza de Mayo where we view the "Casa Rosada" (Pink House) before continuing on to the chic quarter of Recoleta with sidewalk cafes. Nearby is its famous cemetery, a necropolis of elaborate mausoleums, including that of Eva Peron. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 3 Buenos Aires

Today is at leisure to visit the pedestrian walkway of Florida or go shopping. Optional tour of Fiesta Guacha (Barbeque lunch with cowboy show and music) or travel to the suburbs of Buenos Aires to visit the Tigre & Delta of the Parana River including train and boat excursions. Evening Buenos Aires night tour to Esquina Carlos Gardel Enjoy dinner sampling the famous Argentine beef followed by a show where we are mesmerized by sensual national dance… The Tango (B, D)

Day 4 Buenos Aires / Trelew / Puerto Madryn

Transfer to airport for flight to the Patagonian Region of Argentina, a vast region of natural wonders at the end of the earth. Meeting services upon arrival in Trelew and transfer to the Puerto Madryn in the Patagonian province of Chubut. A deep water port, a commercial center, and a tourism destination, Puerto Madryn is a popular destination for beaches, sports, wildlife excursions and gateway to the Península Valdés, Overnight and dinner at your hotel. Day 5 Puerto Madryn

Full day excursion of Peninsula Valdes passing the Amegihino Isthmus to visit Caleta Valdes sea elephants habitat. Continuing to the Punta Norte Wildlife Reserve to see a colony of large sea elephants and Puerto Piramides to view sea lion colony (optional whale watching boat excursion from Sep to Dec). Lunch is included en route. (B, L)

Day 6 Puerto Madryn – Trelew / El Calafate

After breakfast, we drive further south to Punta Tombo to view the over one million Magellanic penguins that migrate here from Antarctica at the end of September through April. Continue with transfer to the airport for flight to El Calafate. Meeting upon arrival, transfer to hotel (B)

Day 7 El Calafate

Full day visit to Perito Moreno Glacier, located along the southern arm of Lago Argentino. The advancing (still growing) glacier spans an area of 20 miles over a total surface of 160 square miles and towering 240 feet above sea level. As the world's largest active glacier, it is one of the most significant natural attractions of Argentina. Lunch box is included during your visit and afternoon return to the hotel for overnight. Day 8 El Calafate

Full day adventure making our way to Punta Bandera Port to board a catamaran that will take you to Upsala and Onelli Glaciers. Sail along the Northern Arm of the Argentino Lake towards Upsala, the largest continental glacier in the Southern Hemisphere (80 miles long and 16 miles wide) to view icebergs separated from the Glacier as we sail along the Glacier towards Onelli Bay where we disembark for a walk through the lenga forest to reach Onelli Lagoon where Bolado, Onelli and Agassiz Glaciers converge down into the waters. (If icebergs prevent disembarking at Onelli Bay you will stop at Puesto. (B)

Day 9 El Calafate / Bariloche

Transfer to the airport for the flight to the year-round resort city of Bariloche, often dubbed the “Switzerland of South America”. Surrounded by deep blue lakes and towering mountains, Bariloche is great for climbing, boating, exploring, dining and just full relaxing make this an incomparable vacation destination. Take the afternoon to shop for local cashmere sweaters or the famous Bariloche chocolates. (B)

Day 10 Bariloche

Today is a circuit excursion from Bariloche to the Southwest skirting Lake Nahuel Huapi. Driving along the winding paved road and crossing the residential district we make our way to Playa Bonita, located near Huemul Island. Continuing along scenic landscape to visit Campanario Mountain and the chair-lift that will take us to the summit at an altitude of about 3,465 feet (optional) from where breathtaking views of lakes: Nahuel Huapi, Moreno, St Peter peninsula, Llao-Llao, Victoria Island, Otto, Lopez and Cathedral mountains as well as Bariloche. We make our way back passing the post-card setting of Llao-Llao peninsula and Puerto Pañuelo with stops for picture taking before returning to our hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 11 Bariloche

Full-day lake excursion commencing with transfer to the pier for your motor-launch transfer to Victoria Island situated amid the Nahuel Huapi Lake. This is a charming island with varied coasts, cliffs, beaches and forests with a variety of flora and fauna, including 500-year old rupestrian paintings. Continue to the Peninsula de Quetrihue and the Arrayanes Woods (Myrtle wood), profoundly unique and therefore a national monument. Here, scrub-like species resemble trees as they reach up to 18-25 meters and are over 300 years old

Day 12 Bariloche / Buenos Aires

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. (B)

Day 13 Buenos Aires / Miami

The day is free for last minute shopping or sightseeing. Evening transfer to airport for your flight back to Miami. (B)
